Ernie Fields Jr. Donation We just received a very large donation from my friend
Ernie Fields Jr.
Ernie is from Oklahoma and so am I... his father was a big band leader and famous in the mid west and west coast (Back in the days of the big bands of course) We here at the foundation really want to thank Ernie for being so giving and helping many students get a chance to play a musical instrument. Once again thank you Ernie!

David Stanton Part 3
The first few notes on any instrument are quite exciting, both for the young musician and their parents. But it is not an easy thing to play an instrument, read music and hear what it should sound like, remember where one's fingers are supposed to go and when to tongue. The effort that boys and girls put into their first attempts at playing music is truly remarkable. The sustained effort in practicing their instrument brings so many rewards, such as being able to play some songs for family and friends. But perhaps the greatest reward is the ...
David Stanton Part 2: In one of my current teaching positions, I lead an ensemble of 65 4th and 5th grade woodwind players from the entire school district of 10 elementary schools who have been designated by their teachers as "advanced". One of my favorite moments each week is before the class starts when the boys and girls are arriving from the different schools, getting out their flutes, oboes, clarinets, and saxophones to warm up. This can be, of course, quite cacophonous, but many times out of this chaos one or two start to play one of the pieces we've been working ...
From David Stanton Part 1
When I was in 4th grade, I came home from school one September day after the music assembly and announced to my mother that I wanted to play the violin. Although I wasn't really aware of it at the time, my parents were just managing to get by financially. My mother gently suggested, "Well, your father plays the clarinet and we already have a clarinet. Why don't you play the clarinet?" That sounded fine to me, and I quickly agreed. That moment began a love affair with music that has been going on for over 50 years. The Rheuben ...
Lanny Morgan on Advisory Board
We are very happy to have the great Jazz Alto Saxophonist Lenny Morgan as a new member of our Advisory Board. Lanny has played with SuperSax, Maynard Ferguson, Si Zentner, Bob Florence, Bill Holman, Natlie Cole and countless jazz greats.
Shortly in our education sheet music free downloads we will have “Lanny’s Licks” his book of jazz studies and patterns. Lanny has very graciously donated this book to help young musicians learn Jazz concepts.

Instrument Request are coming in all the time and we need your support to provide these instruments.
I do not want to try to guilt you into donating like the dog and kids sites we all see on the TV. But I have very limited personal resources to provide a lot of kids with instruments. At the moment I am paying for all the instruments and foundation expenses out of my pocket. I will continue to do what I can but could always use a little help...
Thanks Rheuben Allen
