The Hollywood Clarinet Quartet played a concert at the William Grant Stills Art Center for the summer clarinet students. The kids were great and we had a lot of fun.
I went to a concert for LAUSD featuring several levels of school bands. Presented by Beyond the Bell and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. The concert was at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles.
The concert was outstanding form young kids to high school kids of all levels and they looked like they had fun.
My friend Tony White and Dr. JB Dyas conducted the Thelonious Monk Institute/LAUSD All-City Combo and Big Band with Jane Montheit the combo and band sounded great.

Music is sound first and everything next. When people ask what is music the first thing is it is sound... without a great sound there cannot be great music.
It is important to listen to each note you play and what the sound is coming out the end of your instrument.

Summer Music Program for young students.. We loaned 13 trumpets and 10 clarinets to the William Grant Hill Arts center for their summer music introducing kids to playing musical instruments.
We also gave 40 recorders to kids in the summer program, 30 trumpet mouthpieces and 30 clarinet mouthpieces, ligatures and caps for the students in the summer program. The kids will be able to keep the mouthpieces and recorders so they have something from the program and it might help the want to continue to play an instrument

The Black Diamond Low A Baritone saxophone was designed by Rheuben Allen and is a professional low A Baritone saxophone. It features several unique key designs and is the last in the Black Diamond Baritone Saxophone series for the moment.
